DKC Round 1 Lohsa

DKC Round 1 in Lohsa
My debut in Rotax racing at the first round of the DKC Championship in Lohsa was a weekend full of challenges, learning experiences, and strong moments. Entering a new category always brings new expectations, but I felt confident and was able to adapt quickly throughout the event. Overall, it was a very positive weekend, highlighted by a strong qualifying performance where I secured P6 and showed that we had the pace to compete with the front runners.
The first race brought an unexpected setback when a crash in the third corner collected around half of the field. Unfortunately, I was caught up in the incident despite not being at fault. After being pushed off the track and ending up in the grass, I stayed focused, recovered my kart as quickly as possible, and managed to rejoin the race with only minor bodywork damage. Thanks to a quick recovery, I was the first driver from the incident to get back on track and continued pushing until the finish, securing a solid P6 in Heat 1.
Unfortunately, the final race could not take place after a serious crash in the DD2 category required medical assistance and an ambulance, meaning there was no remaining time in the schedule to run the race safely. While it was disappointing not to have the chance to fight for a final result, the weekend was still a valuable experience and a strong start to my Rotax journey. We showed good speed, gained important knowledge, and left Lohsa motivated and ready for the next rounds of the championship.
